This research article exposes all the password secrets of Yahoo! Messenger including where your messenger login password is stored, how it is stored and how to recover it. Yahoo! Messenger Password Secrets Yahoo! Messenger saves login password in Registry at following location HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Yahoo\pager Yahoo Messenger v6.x used to store encrypted password in registry value named “EOptions string”. Latest version (v7.x) uses the registry value named “ETS” to store the encrypted password. This password cannot be decrypted as it is derived using one way hash algorithm.
