Yahoo! Messenger saves login password in Registry at following location

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Yahoo\pager

Yahoo Messenger v6.x used to store encrypted password in registry value named “EOptions string”.

Latest version (v7.x) uses the registry value named “ETS” to store the encrypted password.

This password cannot be decrypted as it is derived using one way hash algorithm. Yahoo Messenger uses it during login process to validate against the stored hash on the server.
