How to Recover Login Password of GG Messenger

This research article exposes all the password secrets of GG Messenger including where your login password is stored and how it is stored.

GG Messenger Password Secrets

GG Messenger saves your login password in a file called “prefs.js” at following location

[Windows Vista/7/8/10]
C:\Users\[user_name]\AppData\Roaming\GG\Profiles\[Email_Address]\prefs.js

[Windows XP/2003] 
C:\Documents and Settings\[user_name]\Application Data\GG\Profiles\[Email_Address]\prefs.js

Here MainWindowloginId and MainWindowloginPswd refers to Login email and encrypted password respectively.

Password is encrypted using AES-256-CBC algorithm with 256 bit key derived from BIOS serial number, Baseboard ID and Windows product ID.
